Beyond the Rambla
Romantic dinner, we went there and found excellent service, really affable people, the girl who greeted us was wonderful .. we took an appetizer and 2 typical Catalan seconds ... top quality food price .. I highly recommend you go here to Barcelona

Whistle stop tour
Basic hotel in a fabulous location. Clean and spacious room with everything we needed for 2 nights.
Bonus was the breakfast of coffee/croissants that was included.
Only downside was the noise coming from the bar below until after 4am, but it was weekend after all.

Good value for a 1 star
This is a 1 star hotel, and priced accordingly. We paid £210 for a 3 person room, 2 nights, including breakfast. It's very good for the budget.
You're paying for the location, which is amazing. I was also pleasantly surprised by how not noisy it was. We had a room facing away from the square, noise probably worse at the front. I imagine it would be much worse in busy summer months, but that's central Barcelona for you.
It's pretty basic. Mostly clean other than one very suspicious looking brown stain on our room wall. I have knocked a star off for this.
They provide a couple of small sachets of shampoo/shower gel. No hand soap. Hairdryer on request.
Breakfast was tea/coffee, juice, some breads and jams. There's no protein options other than a bit of fruit yoghurt. Again fine for the price, but if you want a more extensive breakfast buffet it isn't the place for you- or go to one of the nearby cafes. The teabags were crap, but I'd stay there again and just bring my own.
It's only accessible-ish. There's a small lift, but the door is heavy to open so a mobility impaired person travelling alone might not be able to do it. There also didn't appear to be a lift down to the basement where breakfast is served, so you'd have to either be able to cope with one flight of stairs or be willing to breakfast elsewhere.
Reception staff spoke both Spanish and English, and were helpful. We were able to leave our bags in the luggage room after check out.
I'd stay there again if looking for a budget option around the Gothic Quarter.
