Wasted potential
The structure is beautiful, rich in Moroccan period objects, with vast spaces that can be used for different purposes: tea room, hookah room, relaxation room, restaurant room, but all obsolete, dark, abandoned and neglected.
Un vero peccato! It has a large, but unlivable terrace.
Among the staff stands out the resolute and attentive personality of the goalkeeper with a mustache.
Breakfast always fresh and hearty, but repetitive.

Too expensive for the price, never again!
Otherwise, the hotel exudes the charm and atmosphere of youth hostel in the 70s in Germany:
* Breakfast is always the same basal. In addition, it is always served in the courtyard, even in cold and rain.
* The quality of the breakfast and the intermittent unprofessionalism and latent annoyance of the staff kept me from trying the restaurant in the evening. There are enough other great and above all cheaper options in the medina!
* Bathrooms are old and musty. Really warm water is only available from the afternoon! When asked, I picked up annoyed looks.
* The cleaning staff just walk in without knocking.
* Service not very professional: Once, the cleaners did not lock our room again while we were on the road. Management responded to this suggestion only with a shrug.
* The service is ok, normally polite, but that's what I expect as a guest.
* Exception: The young lady at the front desk always seems like you're violating human rights when you have a question.
Overall, I think: The hotel management lacks sensitivity to detail and perhaps also here and there professionalism.
For one or two nights ok. I don't need luxury bathrooms or luxury service. But: For the same price you will certainly get more comfort and friendliness in Essaouira, especially if you - like us - stay longer.
For the price we paid (1100 euros per person for 7 nights with flight and "breakfast" in January) I felt deducted in this riad from TUI. For this I expect at least warm showers throughout, a rich breakfast and less musty rooms.

Never again!
The courtyard where breakfast took place had a certain charm, unfortunately we sometimes had to wait a very long time for a free table. The staff ran but did not meet the number of guests.
Dinner in the restaurant was quite good, but something bothered us the domestic cat, which rummaged around our feet and disappeared in the kitchen in between.
The house is very noisy.
