Desert Oasis

We found this place great! The pool and bar is situated up on a cliff with stunning views. Pool was beautiful and clean, rooms fantastic. It's self catering so you either bring your food or order dinner at nearby resort which is a 5 minute drive. Wilderbeast and Jackel come in close to the rooms. Stunning views of the landscape. Could sit at the bar and pool area all day.

An excellent accommodation in a very remote location

We spent three nights at Desert Quiver Camp during our Namibia tour and were very enthusiastic about the accommodation. The booking was made via the provider's homepage and we paid the equivalent of 165 euros including breakfast for a self catering unit with ~30m2. The numerous housing units are clearly spaced apart, so you have your peace in front of the neighbors. The car can be parked right next to the building.
Our son slept on the sofa bed and found it comfortable, the double bed was very comfortable. In the room there was a well-functioning shower plus toilet and air conditioning as well as a ceiling fan. In addition, on the terrace an outdoor kitchenette incl. fridge plus barbecue. For a deposit you get a basket with all necessary cooking utensils.
Internet is only available in the main house of the neighboring Sossusvlei Lodge, where breakfast is also offered in buffet form. Alternatively, you can order a breakfast basket, which you can pick up at the reception in the morning and then have breakfast with in the National Park. On two days we chose this variant and can absolutely recommend it, as the basket leaves nothing to be desired: a pot of coffee, a pot of hot water plus tea bag, 1 liter of milk, orange juice, yogurt, cereal, bread/rolls, cheese, sausage,... The other tourists in the national park looked at our laid breakfast table quite jealously:-)
One morning we had breakfast at the Sossusvlei Lodge and the buffet was also great incl. egg dish station, where omelette was freshly prepared according to request.
For dinner you can either book the great buffet of the Sossusvlei Lodge or use the barbecue on site. The ingredients are ordered at the Sossusvlei Lodge and then delivered towards the evening.
The camp has a nice pool area, but you can also use the larger pool of the Sossusvlei Lodge.
All in all, I can recommend the property without restriction, as it - especially considering the very remote location - offers a lot. The price is not necessarily cheap, but in view of what is offered it is fair in any case. All staff were very friendly and sympathetic.

Great setting but mixed services

Rating that was difficult to choose. The accommodations are architecturally stunning but well integrated into the landscape, very modern and comfortable. Nevertheless, they are without real charm inside, rather cold design. The furnishing is succinct (not even a table or desk to ask some things), the toilet is almost open to the rest of the room, it lacks essentials (a single bottle that makes shower gel / shampoo / hand soap, it is a little light + no hair dryer), the table and benches outside are a unique set whose seat is very uncomfortable. Don’t expect to have Breakfast or Dinner on site, drive to Sossusvlei Lodge 4km away (a nice place but much more mass tourism, even if the food is good). Moreover, at Desert Quiver Camp, the staff is not frankly welcoming or friendly. Otherwise, the setting is absolutely exceptional, oryx are free in the surroundings and pass regularly. The location is ideal for Sossusvlei, Big Daddy and Deadvlei.

Unforgettable

I had a great stay here. The customer service was amazing, and transfers were seamless and well-coordinated. The highlight of my trip was the Sossusvlei & Deadvlei Excursion arranged by the hotel. The guide was exceptional - deeply knowledgeable, engaging, and enthusiastic. I can’t wait to return. Highly recommended!

Excellent hotel near the entrance to the park

We liked the hotel. The only thing that wasn't WiFi, but it wasn't in the whole area because the optics were cut. The rooms have kitchens and mangalas, but there are no dishes except cups. Not even teaspoons. Hot water in the shower starts flowing fast. The room is cozy and beautifully decorated. There's a small pool and bar. It's good to rest here after seeing the dunes.
If you are taking a room with breakfast or dinner, be aware that the restaurant is on the premises of another hotel.

Utensil boxes are available at reception for guests that want to self-cater and not adding meals at our nearby Sossusvlei Lodge.
