The Old Ship
With free Wi-Fi throughout and free parking on site, The Old Ship overlooks the sea in Newbiggin Bay. It is a 10-minute drive from Ashington and 30 minutes from Newcastle. There is a large outdoor decking area leading onto the promenade, so you can enjoy food and drink outside with views of the bay. Guests can also relax in the traditional bar, which has regular theme nights. Rooms at The Old Ship have simple décor and traditional wooden furnishings. Each has pretty views, a TV and DVD player, and facilities for making tea and coffee.

Great Central Location. Great value for money.
comfortable and value for money
Breakfast had plenty of options. Highly recommended the Ful
English!
The Breakfast was included in the over all cost, which was a nice
surprise. Other places we have stayed breakfast was extra ££ to
the accommodation price
Jackie and team were fabulous, nothing was too much trouble,
drinks reasonably priced at the bar.
Ne didn't have a main meal in the 0ld Ship at this time. As they
are only serving on a weekend. Not peak season but plenty
of local options. We could bring food/takeaways into pub, nd
bother. We chose to eat outside as the weather stayed fine.

Excellent Sunday lunch
The 5 roast options were excellent and great value , £10-£11.
The plates arrived complete with 7 vegetables, parsnip crisps, yorkshire pud, complete with gravey...and sauces, a huge plate ful! Both turkey and beef meats were tender and thickly sliced.
I have never seen such large desserts, if you had room for one. Again a great selection.
A nice atmosphere too.

Fabulous Christmas Fayre
Service friendly, atmosphere welcoming and food excellent.. we both had Turkey roast with all the trimmings (which I highly recommend) followed by Roulade and profiteroles.. delicious
