Terrific Staff

The staff at this hotel keeps me returning. They are the more caring and helpful I've met and will go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. I especially appreciated Alexis, Gage, Natalie and Dianne. The pool is great but coolish, very clean and large for an indoor hotel pool. The pool area is old and needs help but they haven't been given the budget yet by Marriott to improve it. When the business computer was down I was able to go next door to use the one in the Towne Place (thanks to Holly there). The rooms that overlook the back of Lowe's are the quietest if you don't care about the view, and on the front look at the beautiful mountains but there's a bit of traffic noise. A general complaint of Marriott is they are going toward very soft mattresses which my spine does not appreciate, but that's not a problem specific only to this hotel. Breakfast (you pay) is very good and made to your order and preferences. Starbucks coffee!

Not a very clean room!

We have stayed at many many marriotts! This one was by far the worst! The room had a horrible odor, the pillows and sheets also had a horrible odor. One of the sheets had a stain on it and looked like it hadn’t been washed. There were ants in the bathroom and tub. No clock by the bed! We did not have a good night sleep!!

Substandard Courtyard

AC broken when we arrived, pretty sure they knew we were getting a dud room when they gave it to us. Very nice maintenance guy did come fix it within an hour, which is good because the front desk manager told us very unapologetically that there was no possibility of changing rooms. It was 90 degrees outside. Room was weirdly configured, furniture shabby/dated, didn’t match (odd). Not a pleasant stay but thankfully only an overnight.

Not worth what I Paid

Staff was excellent. Super friendly and helpful. The hotel room itself was just ok. It was clean, but soooo dark. I came for a dance competition. It was so hard trying to do my daughter's makeup. The very unfortunate thing that happened was the fact that they apparently overbooked the rooms by 15 and charged me $379 for one of the nights. I personally did not book my own room, a friend did, so unfortunately I was unaware of the upcharge. I had checked the rates, and was expecting about $170. No way was that room worth close to a $400 night. Ridiculous. And what hotel overbooks?! Will never stay here again.

Needs improvement but friendly staffers

Although the hotel is a Courtyard brand the quality of the room and its facility are sub-par. The room and bathroom are all dated and run down and need some major renovation. It seems that they just plastered with new wallpapers and call it a day.
Outdoor space is almost nonexistent, you will be looking at either concrete wall or the windows to rooms.
I have stayed at many Courtyard across the country and this particular Courtyard kitchen not only is one of the most expensive (which is okay if it is justified), But the standard of the food varies every time. I ordered the same item and the picture left is from Layton and the right is from Hawthrone. The one from Layton is literally 1/3 the size and missing key ingredients and looks super sad for a 15 dollars item.
It could be a problem from the corporate office but Marriot Courtyard needs to standardize the amount, quality, ingredients, and value of the food they provide since the menus are the same across the board.
